Welcome to One World Birth

One World Birth is a free online video resource for birth professionals, activists and parents who want to keep their finger on the pulse of birth around the globe today. The world's birth experts discuss the latest thinking & research in short, bite-sized video clips that are based around a central theme each month.

Each month One World Birth will upload new videos on a certain theme. September's theme was The Big Picture. October's theme was The Love Theme & November is all about the USA and Canada. We'll be filming, editing and uploading as we travel from Toronto to Florida. We've tried to make it as simple as possible to browse the videos, but we reckon you should just dive in and explore for yourself!

About

Whilst we love one off documentaries, we realised that if we spent a year making one about what is happening in birth around the world today, by the time we released it, it would already be out of date! That's why we came up with the idea of making a "live", never-ending documentary that would be available online straight away and would keep up with the rapid changes (both good & bad) that are happening daily. This is a community site with one goal in mind: to connect individuals passionate about birth all around the world and create a global force so strong that, together, we can bring about change where change is needed.

We are in the early stages of this project, but we have huge plans to bring this community together and to show how local action really can bring about global change! Click here for more.

LATEST NEWS:

Freedom For Birth. We launched our new documentary, Freedom for Birth, on September 20th. There were over 1000 screenings in 50 countries with an estimated audience of 100,000 people. The 60 minute film is available on DVD from the web site. A web-friendly 15 minute version will be available to view completely free a little later in November.
Doula! DVD: WORLD DOULA WEEK saw over 185 screenings of our Doula! film take place all around the world. We are huge fans of doulas and a big part of One World Birth is to help spread awareness of doulas throughout the world as that is a sure-fire way of helping to make birth better! This DVD is currently being re-authored with even more subtitle languages.
