World Doula Week

World Doula Week is taking place between March 22nd and 28th and to celebrate this event we are waiving the usual public screening licence fee so that anyone can hold a screening of the Doula! film in their own community. We want as many people as possible to hear about doulas and the invaluable work they do so what better way than to have hundreds of screenings taking place in communities all around the world all within one week?

 

So, what do I need to do to hold my own screening?

If you already own a copy of the DVD then you can use that for the screening.

If you need a copy, then simply buy the private home-use DVD from here which you can use for public screenings between March 22nd and 28th 2012.

Where can I hold my screening?

You don’t need to hire your local multiplex for your screening, although people have done this in the past! Depending on how many people you are planning to invite, you can always hold a screening in your own home. Some screenings may attract an audience of over 100, others just five or ten. If you are hiring a venue, you might want to think about recouping your costs by selling tickets or refreshments.

 

What else should I think about?

After the screening you could host a Question and Answer session with local doulas or you could have an informal chat over coffee or a glass of wine. The important thing is to get people talking about doulas and what they do.

 

Do you have anything else that can help me set up a screening?

If you do decide you want to hold your own screening, we’ll email you a Screening Kit that is packed full of information about how to hold your screening as well as PDF versions of posters and other marketing materials that you can print out or email to your prospective audience.

 

What if I want to hold additional screenings at a later date?

If you decide you also want to hold a public screening outside of World Doula Week, you will then need to purchase an additional public screening licence for each subsequent event from the Doula Film web site.

 

What information do I need to give you?

Fill in the contact form below with details of your screening if you know them now. Additional Details: any information about the screening such as the venue’s capacity, are you providing any refreshments? Are you holding a Q&A after the screening and with whom? And please indicate if you will be charging for tickets. Do you have more details of the screening on a web site or Facebook page we can direct people to?
